**DESCRIPTION**
Join a motivated and happy team in a unique and beautiful rural setting in the South Downs. We are looking for a committed team player with a meticulous eye for detail to assist our Internal Accountant and to help her build a process-driven and efficient department. You will have an understanding of accounting fundamentals and a desire to develop your knowledge and understanding of the business. You will be motivated, well organised and capable of establishing good professional relationships within the wider team and with our clients and tenants.
The Firle Estate is a country estate situated in the South Downs near Lewes. At the heart of the estate is Firle Place and its surrounding parkland which continues to be a family home. Today the estate is a diversified group of businesses and family property interests.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Paying and liaising with suppliers
- Sales & Purchase ledger entry and reconciliation of suppliers statements
- Bank account entry and reconciliations
- Credit Card, Cash and Staff expense entry
- Journal entries
- General accounts Admin
- Purchase orders
- Credit control and debt management
- Help maintain budgets and cash forecasts
**EXPERIENCE**
Essential
- 3-5 years or more of solid bookkeeping experience
- Technical knowledge and qualifications i.e. AAT or equivalent or working towards accreditation
- Good experience of accounting software Xero, Sage (or similar)
- Must be happy in a hands-on role in a small team.
- A fair knowledge of VAT
- Car and driving licence

- Payroll experience
- Experience working for a family business

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 25 per week
