The Clinical and Technical Consultant Supervisor maintains and develops the business with customers ensuring that excellent clinical / technical support and excellent education activities are provided. The role is responsible for developing a TC team to its highest potential, supporting the growth of talent to build a strong, performance-oriented team to enhance Medtronic's reputation in the market. The team will design and deliver gold standard service to our patients and clinicians whilst driving clinical and educational consistencies amongst the Pain Therapies team. It is responsible working in partnership with the country manager to achieve commercial business plans, ensuring the target is met or exceeded in line with country strategy. It is responsible or allocating and using Medtronic resources in the most effective way and European clinical teams to optimise patient outcomes.
**A Day in the Life
- Plans and manages the execution of clinical, technical and educational programs and strategies in key accounts setting and achieving gold standard of service and outcomes.
- Plan and prioritize technical field support on a daily / weekly basis and communicate implantation activities to each team member.
- Provides technical, clinical and scientific expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products.
- Collects requests from customers, agents and sales rep in order to carry out proper planning and prioritization of technical activities in the field
- Plan and prioritize clinical, technical and educational activities with the review and input of sales staff and other functional groups, e.g. marketing, reimbursement, clinical, education, etc., in line with the country business plan
- Collaboration with the Marketing team to ensure immediate action / information from / to the TC team.
- It ensures that support is provided at an optimal level, by the team of technical consultants, including the setting of device parameters, control of functionality, etc.
- Participate in and encourage the development of training / education programs for employees and customers. Organizes study materials, projects, training for clients (doctors, technicians and nurses) in collaboration with the sales force and European team.
- Provides sales team with technical and clinical data necessary for the demonstration of products.
- Provide technical support to company sales staff and customers in key strategic accounts when required.
Relationship Management
- Maintains strong and long-lasting relationships with critical / key customers in the country.
- Documents, communicates and shares information with the country manager and sales force on activities.
- Ensures the implementation of specific promotional / sales programs of the therapies in collaboration with Marketing and Education.
- Coordinates and maintains contact with other Technical Consultant Supervisors across MDT in order to develop a best practice approach.
Internal and administrative
- Reports trends, metrics (EG revenue VS efforts) and all customer, market and competitor information in an exhaustive, complete and timely manner using company systems.
- Immediately and accurately report all negative events related to customers or products (for example, customer feedback, product or legal issues, risks, etc.).
- Performs all administrative tasks and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner. Provides a mínimal, but regular, activity report to country manager.
- Attend all necessary regional and national meetings
People Management
- Directly supervise Technical Consultants day to day activity and achievements.
- Work with the Country Manager to develop talent and build a strong, performance oriented team.
- Set and communicate goals and targets for each member of your team in line with Country manager and country strategy.
- Monitor the progression of results on an individual and team level against annual goals.
- Provide constructive feedback with support of Country Manager taking action as needed to ensure expectations / goals / skill levels are met, coaching and motivating team.
- Allocating and using Medtronic resources in the most effective way, according to the strategy, opportunities, risks, workload of colleagues.
**Must Haves**
- Proven ability to operate and communicate in a complex environment and to work effectively with the sales force and management, doctors and hospital staff to influence change and adoption of new ways of working.
- Evidence of people management skills and development plans within current role.
- Demonstrated integrity, ethics and respect for people.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize team activities in the field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
