The roles involves supervising, supporting, mentoring some ASYE's and as a result holding a smaller case hold than social workers in the team. Warrington's teams work across CIN, CP and care proceedings. However, the team for this role has low number ofcare proceedings (2 children).
It’s an exciting time to be joining Children Social Care in Warrington, their senior practitioners works alongside the Team Manager playing a key role in ensuring that children and families are supported effectively.
Senior practitioners also play a crucial role in implementing their practice model, and work closely with the Child in Need team managers in developing outstanding social work practice across the teams.
WBC are looking for committed social workers who feel confident in making decisions to safeguard and protect children, and are passionate about supporting and developing staff.
As a senior practitioner in the CIN Team you will have the opportunity to develop your skills further and develop management skills should you be on your own career development journey, such as delivering development sessions and supervision of Social Workers.
They have six teams in their Child in Need Service, with six great Team managers who are eager to support and develop all social workers alongside the senior practitioner. WBC have a range of exciting and impactful developments in Warrington that their staffcan utilise in supporting families, including:
No wrong door - a multi-agency hub where young people at risk of going into care get targeted support to cope with the multiple issues they face;
Families first (which includes Family Group Conference Co-ordinators, PAMS assessors and family support workers);
A family time service (to assist in arranging and supervising the time that their children in care spend with their families);
Restore - a service designed to work with Mothers who are pregnant and have children previously moved, with the aim of reducing repeat removals;
Administrative team - the team are able to assist with taking minutes of meetings, scanning documents onto the system and other administrative tasks.
