**Maintenance Assistant - Base Maintenance**
**Purpose of the Role**
- To provide general operation, servicing, and maintenance support to AirTanker Services in respect of their Main Operating Base facilities at Brize Norton, the Voyager aircraft, and its associated support equipment as detailed by the Shift Manager or nominated Supervisor._

**Responsibilities**:

- Be responsible to the Shift Manager or nominated Supervisor for assisting with the performance of aircraft arrival and dispatch handling and servicing, including aircraft movements,, water and waste, de-icing and cleaning activities.
- Assist Engineers in the performance of their duties.
- Conduct training as required on all types of AirTanker Services Motor Transport and Specialised Ground Support Equipment as required and white card holder authorisation.
- With the Shift Manger’s endorsement, support the facility management team in minor general maintenance activities on the AirTanker services facilities and support infrastructure.
- Perform duties as an approved driver and operator of the AirTanker Services Motor Transport and Specialized Ground Support Equipment as required.
- Provide general support to aircraft maintenance team within the AirTanker services maintenance hangar. Activities to include assistance with aircraft docking, cleaning, waste disposal and material handling
- Assist in assuring that the Company meets or exceeds the quality requirements as required under EASA Part 145 maintenance approval and ensure company H&S standards are met and adhered to.
- Any other such duties that may be required, and as directed by the Shift Managers.
- Capable of taking a safety focussed approach all facets of work
- Emergency Response actions and drills
- Human factors - awareness and capability to deal with potential implications.
- Risk analysis and assessment
- Understanding of company policies
- Understanding of the national workplace HSE regulations
- Ensure Spill Stations are correctly stocked. Liaise with Logistics reference any shortages
- Ensure Rags Bins are correctly stocked. Liaise with logistics reference any shortages
- Ensure any non contract supported bins are emptied to hangar waste disposal point
- Liaise with Facilities and Babcock to dispose of any bulk waste items or contaminated waste ie carpets, coin dot. Separate skips may need supplying by facilities
- Ensure any incorrectly disposed of waste is transferred to correct bin, waste receptacle
- If any Bins, waste receptacles are found full contact Babcock to empty / dispose of.
- Inspect Part Used POL cabinets for cleanliness both internal and external. Clean as required
- Inspect Part Used POL cabinets for Time Expired products. If require disposal ensure double clear bagged and label placed inside with description of waste. Remove to External Storage Location is Babcock FM unable to carry out manual handling
- Inspect Waste Fuel Trolleys on Hangar Floor. Empty as required
- Inspect Waste Oil Trolleys on Hangar Floor. Empty as required
- Inspect Waste fuel bowsers (white ones) for quantity. If required contact Babcock MT to empty
- Inspect Nitrogen Rig for Pressure. If required contact Babcock to replenish
- Inspect Access platforms for damage and serviceability (all steps and gear staging also). If required contact Babcock for cleaning and make U/S if defects found
- Inspect all aircraft docking (wings, cargo access, cabin access) for cleanliness and serviceability. Clean as required or contact facilities for U/S defects
- Ensure all part used consumable and AGS cages are tidy, clean and in correct location
- Inspect Fuel Tank Entry Trolleys for Internal and External Cleanliness. Clean as required. Any unserviceable equipment to be identified to shift manager.
- Inspect Hangar Floor + Stored Tooling / Equipment for state of cleanliness. Clean as required and contact Babcock for assistance. Defects to be reported to Babcock or Tool Stores.
- Inspect MEWPS / Booms for state of cleanliness. Clean as required
- Inspect Workshop area for state of cleanliness and inspect machines / tooling for unserviceability’s. Clean as required and report defects to shift manager
- Escort any Visitors (Red Passes) as directed by Shift Manager or designated deputy. Escort must be present during full duration of visitor stay within facility.
- Any other requested duties as stated by Shift Manager or designated deputy

- Must be CP2 cleared
