**We are looking for someone with a proven track record in devising and driving product strategies that have delivered growth for global business. Working with the FT's highly successful editorial and business teams, the CPO will ensure the FT builds the right products and services to accelerate the growth of the Financial Times Group as well as our parent group Nikkei. We are looking for someone who can take mature products forward as well as build new products that will drive growth at the FT.**

**This role will report into the Chief Product and Technology Officer and join a team consisting of the FT's Chief Technology Officer, Director of Delivery and Director of PMO & Governance. As a team of 400+ people, we are responsible for all of Product and Technology at the FT - from networking and cyber security, supporting our systems and people all the way through to developing new products and services. We constantly have to balance the imperative for growth alongside effectively managing legacy products and the stability and security of our existing estate.**

**It is a truly global role - you will have team members in London in the UK and Sofia in Bulgaria and work with engineers in Manila in the Philippines. You will also work closely with our colleagues at our parent company Nikkei - we currently deliver an English language news product for Nikkei as well as working on a new data and content business product together.**

Craft a compelling product vision and strategy across the entire FT portfolio**

Work closely with the senior management team across the company, by aligning the product strategy to the overall company strategy in order to drive growth for the FT**

Lead, develop and inspire empowered teams to ensure effective development of solutions which achieve business outcomes and improve the quality of user experience for FT products**

Ensure that the Product team is utilising best practice techniques and are seen as thought leaders in the discipline**

Create revenue opportunities through the introduction of innovative products and services and the growth of existing products**

**This role involves travel - it is essential that our global teams are fully supported. We share travel responsibilities amongst the senior team to ensure we balance the requirement to spend time with team members and the importance we place on our home lives.**

**Qualifications / Competencies / Skills / Experience**

**Data is at the heart of the FT's product development process and during the interview process we will want to hear about how you've used data to drive and inform decision making in a high growth environment. You will have in-depth knowledge of the entire product lifecycle from insights/analysis, roadmap development, UX, UI and design thinking. You will also be able to demonstrate how you have led high-performing empowered teams in a fast-moving and global environment. We will want to hear how you have successfully worked with dispersed product and technology teams.**

**As well as highly developed and proven influencing and negotiation skills, you will have a successful track record of budget management and the ability to produce strong business cases.**
