We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced **Electrical Manager** to lead on the development and delivery of a high quality electrical service that will enable us to meet our corporate and regulatory requirement of ensuring ourcustomers are safe. This will include management of Electrical services including all servicing and maintenance requirements, installation of new systems (including energy efficient/renewable energy solutions, development of plans and programmes that supportour ongoing assurance of safety as we transition to a low-carbon economy, management of programme budgets and management of both contractors and direct works. Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 6,800 homes across West Norfolk, making a difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles. We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Property Services team. Over the last 14 years, there have been numerous achievements, not least delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. **Requirements**: - To be responsible for the management and control of the Electrical service and its related functions, ensuring the all aspects such as project management, operational management, design, procurement, estimating, partnering, management of programme budgets,forecasts of cash flow/budget, cost plans, budgetary control, cost/value reconciliation, contract administration, energy management, compliance with CDM Regulations, environmental management, waste management, customer satisfaction, risk management, health& safety, commercialism/management and technical support services(including developing actions/strategies with internal stakeholders) are delivered and provided to high standards - Lead on the delivery of the Electrical cyclical maintenance and servicing functions (as both client and contractor) and ensure that all domestic properties have a valid landlord gas safety certificate and electrical inspection with full regulatory compliance - Provide assurance and act as a critical friend in supporting the delivery of the electrical repairs function (as both client and contractor), ensure that all works undertaken have valid Minor Works certification - To deliver the duty as "Responsible Person" and in ensuring regulatory/statutory compliance through the effective management, monitoring, service and maintenance of all electrical supplies, electric heating, ventilation & cooling installations, lift installations,fire/carbon monoxide detection/alarm and smoke control systems, building management systems and plant in all non-domestic premises - Support the business to establish, implement, manage and review of targets to ensure the commercial viability of the Electrical (Repairs) service, deliver continuous improvement, sustainability, and growth. This will include targets such as operative performance,use of contractors and subcontractors and sharing these targets with all team members and ensuring ownership of them at an appropriate level - Lead on the establishment, implementation, management, and review of targets to ensure the delivery within agreed Electrical budgets, including recommending any appropriate actions to retain expenditure within budget and drive delivery of value/efficiencies - To lead on the development and management of Renewable Energies including design, construction, and administrative functions - To manage the preparation of cost plans, procurement strategies and the verification of interim valuations and final accounts - To assist the Head of Asset Management (and other key personnel), to determine appropriate procurement routes/tender opportunities, manage the preparation of tender documents, estimating, opening of tenders, preparation of reports, preparation of contractdocuments, delivery of contractual obligations, issuing of instructions/certificates, and to monitor performance (inc. dispute resolution) **KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE** - Degree level or equivalent education/training in recognised electrical installation/engineering field, or significant relevant Electrical experience gained within construction/housing - Significant management level experience with budgetary responsibilities - Experience of managing Electrical services in both domestic and non-domestic environments, along with in the fulfilment of client functions/services. This will be combined with an up-to date knowledge of legislative frameworks and understanding of Healthand Safety issues associated with the role - Experience with the installation of renewable technologies, building management systems and in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm and/or smoke control systems - Demonstrable experience in the deployment of sound project and contract management tools and methodologies to effectively delivery key operational programmes - Experience of managing a skilled, multidiscipline team with full statutory and regulatory compliance, together with commercial acumen. Should be able to demonstrate necessary motivational leadership skills that inspire staff to work effectively both individuallyand as a team - Knowledge of social housing and understanding of public sector issues and sensitivities, including Regulatory compliance - Well-developed understanding of the dynamics of business and financial management within a complex organisation and those of a mechanical and electrical contractor/client - Evidence of developing and managing performance standards and associated reports that support delivery of the organisation's plans and objectives **Benefits** - £42,500 per annum - Great Pension Scheme - Full access to an Employee Assistance Program - Customer focused, team working environment - Employee discount perks - 25 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years)
