The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.
To deliver against our goal we have reallocated resources and invested heavily in developing a team of exceptional people capable of creating winning England teams at our world-class training facilities at our National Football Centre, St. George's Park.
This is a unique and exciting time to join The FA and the Technical Team will be integral to the organisation achieving its goals.

**Role Description**
- Work proactively with the Assistant Head of Estates and other members of the Estates team to maintain and prepare all landscape areas to the highest standard enhancing the overall environment for all events and teams hosted on the SGP grounds.
- To work as part of the Estates Team in the management of the site in accordance with current management plans and annual work schedules produced
- Ensure the site is kept clear of litter and presentable for visitors, clients and staff
- Ensure clear and safe pedestrian and vehicular access to the site particularly in adverse weather conditions.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Maintain and prepare the gardens and landscape areas to high standards set out by senior management team.
- Work on the wider estate carrying out works in line with estate management plans
- Lawn maintenance and care to include - mowing, edging, scarifying, fertilising, spraying, weeding, strimming, top dressing, re-seeding, repair work (vehicle damage etc.)
- To assist in the maintenance and development of woodlands, ancient and veteran trees, grasslands and wetland habitats across the site
- Bed and planter maintenance and creation to include - planting, weeding, pruning, forking, digging, mulching, watering, edging
- Hedge maintenance to include - weeding, cutting, gap filling, edging
- Path and kerb maintenance to include - cleaning, spraying, weeding, brushing, blowing, gritting and snow clearing
- Standard tree care - pruning, watering and feeding, weeding, relocating
- To work sensitively and cooperatively as part of the Estates Team in areas as required by law due to specific species and areas on site
- To wear the correct PPE as laid out in the Health and Safety guidelines
- To inform supervisors of any maintenance issues, damages or breakages to the site or tools
- Execute additional tasks as required in line with FA Group changing priorities.
- To comply with company policy and best practise in security, legal and regulatory compliance
- To carry out all duties, within the relevant legislation
- To ensure H&S responsibilities are fulfilled
- Always maintain all equipment in line with manufactures standards to ensure optimum operation
- Operate all SGP grounds machinery to maintain all areas to the highest standard
- To carry out any training required for development of your role, to include mandatory set out by FA group.
- To be responsible for ensuring all equipment and tools are returned in good condition
- Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
**What we are looking for**
Essential
**Knowledge**
- An understanding and safe use of ride on rotary and cylinder mowers, pedestrian mowing, hedge trimmers, blowers and strimmers
- Basic plants, tree and shrub care knowledge
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
- Previous proven experience in a grounds maintenance / horticulture role
**Experience**
- Previous use of pedestrian mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, brush cutters
- Basic garden/landscape/estates type of work
- _**Technical Skills**
- A willingness to learn.
- Good time keeping
- Happy to work outdoors in all weathers
- Be flexible with working hours
- Smart, courteous, polite and approachable.
- Good communicator.
- Good eye for detail.
- The role will involve lone working and collaborative teamwork so you must be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
Desirable
**Knowledge**
- In depth knowledge of any of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers
- In depth machinery knowledge of either use, maintenance or both
