Do you have experience in Procurement and Supply Chain? Are you looking for a fast-paced environment in an innovative industry? This is a fantastic role for someone who understands the supply chain, who can build excellent supplier relationships and has excellent negotiation skills. The buyer will have full ownership of the suppliers they manage and will be expected to achieve significant cost savings whilst ensuring the highest product quality at all times.In line with the James Heal Company Values, work proactively and collaboratively with all colleagues and interested parties to ensure we create a workplace culture that makes James Heal a great place to work.

Responsibilities include:
- Placing orders in line with MRP requirements to meet on-time in full-needs for your own commodity groups.
- Responsible for indirect and requisition spend.
- Timely expediting of orders to ensure OTIF.
- Negotiating with suppliers and contractors. Carrying out supplier visits & audits when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate system information on Microsoft AX, to always ensure correct product information and inventory levels.
- Monitoring, tracking, and reporting of supply chain trends when necessary.
- Sourcing new suppliers/products domestically and internationally when required.
- Producing purchasing reports and contributing towards achieving departmental KPI’s.
- Assisting colleagues both at the Halifax and sister sites (when necessary) with purchasing requirements
- Representing the Purchasing team, being the purchasing liaison and offering Purchasing expertise when needed, to all other departments and in meetings.
- Being the Purchasing representative for new projects
- Adherence to all ISO Procedures
- Identify and driving potential Continuous Improvement initiatives, sometimes taking the lead where appropriate.

- A purchasing background with a a good level of demonstrable experience and having worked with an MRP system in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Good general IT skills.
- An eye for detail and a drive for perfection. Willing to voice ideas and propose new methods or opportunities if appropriate.
