Yealm Gardening Services was established in 1973. The current MD, bought this business from his father in 1987. Due to relocation and in an attempt to attract landscaping rather than gardening projects, the name was changed to YGS Landscapes in 1997.

At this time it also relocated to its current premises; a 2.75acre smallholding at Plympton. Between 1987 and 2005, it operated in the residential sector, primarily working on private garden design and construction projects. In 2005, YGS ventured into the commercial sector to broaden its service offer and to build up a better pipeline of work.

YGS landscapes Ltd was incorporated in 2006 and started trading in 2014. It currently operates in the Devon and Cornwall area and employs 40 full time staff and numerous sub contractors. The company works in all sectors, carrying out all aspects of clearance, landscaping, fencing and maintenance for developers and residential clients alike.

Recent expansion has seen YGS working within the public sector on numerous renovation and public realm projects, and other long term projects which includes work such as planting 1 mile of bat corridors for a new town and installing over 125,000 trees for future woodlands.

Highly driven individual capable of leading a team to complete soft landscaping projects. Must be able to work under pressure delivering work to customer deadlines. A willingness to learn and have a can do attitude is a must.

This is a physically and mentally demanding job which can be incredibly rewarding,

CSCS card preferred / valid CITB HS&E Operative test pass essential.

Driving Licence Essential

Experience working in a commercial landscape environment including housing.

Able to assist supervisor in delivering site work

Experience in aspects of soft landscaping: shrub planting/turfing/tree planting/seeding/mulching.

Working hours 7.00-4.30 Mon-Fri (discretionary overtime available)

20 days holiday + bank holidays

Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
