**Learning Support Assistant**

Permanent, Part Time

Up to £19,971 per annum, pro rata - pay award pending

Location: Clacton on Sea

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

**Please note that this opportunity is a part time role, working in both Colchester and Clacton-on-Sea, currently offering approximately 15 hours per week - term time only. Working pattern to be discussed at interview.**

To provide quality course delivery and facilitate learning. To assist with delivery of sessions to the standards of quality required by the service and the funding body ensuring that effective monitoring and evaluation, including student feedback, takes place during and at the end of the course, helping to take action where appropriate. To co-operate with any quality assurance schemes as required.

**Accountabilities**
- To be attentive and responsive to the needs of the tutor and class.
- To help motivate students, encourage participation and ensure that appropriate methods, materials and resources are used in the sessions.
- To assist with attending to individual learning needs, assessing progress and achievement, providing regular feedback and, in accordance with the requirements of the service, maintaining records of individual learning and attendance under the direction of the tutor, contribute to the assessment of a learner’s attitudes, skills and knowledge.
- To fulfil the legal obligations to ensure own and others’ health and safety.
- To undertake training as appropriate and to attend meetings as required.
- To carry out administrative procedures pertaining to the course as required by the Service.
- To undertake any other relevant duties commensurate with the post which may be reasonably required by the appropriate Service Manager.
- Participate in the performance and development review process, to take personal responsibility for the identification of learning and development opportunities and reflect on training needs for discussion with line manager.
- To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with work role, for health and safety in the workplace.
- To ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the County Council Equal Opportunities Policy and Practice.
- The duties of the post may be changed and/or varied to meet the changing needs of the Adult Community Learning Service.
- Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

**The Experience You Will Bring**
- Educated to Level 2, in English and Maths
- Experience of working in a support role with adults

**Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, **or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.**
