Truro, United Kingdom Evolving Communities CIC Full time

**Senior Neonatal Lead**

**Part-time, £16,682 a year (FTE £41,704)**

**15 hrs a week, flexible home based with some travel across the county**

Do you have lived experience of neonatal care (not as a clinician), and a passion for improving people’s care experiences? Are you a good communicator with the confidence to represent other people’s views and experience of leading projects?

Join our team to engage with people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly about their neonatal experiences, and represent their voices in NHS Trust and system meetings, bringing vital insights and constructive challenge and scrutiny. If you're ready to make a real impact, we want to hear from you.

**The role**

Kernow MNVP works across Cornwall and Isles of Scilly to engage, involve and represent families who have used maternity and neonatal services. Following the publication of the MNVP guidance by NHS England, we are committed to ensuring equality of leadership between Maternity and Neonatal in our team.

Approximately 1 in 7 babies in the UK will be admitted to a neonatal unit (Bliss). We want to ensure we are able to safely and appropriately engage and listen to families across the county who have accessed neonatal care. This is so we can support their voices to be at the centre of designing and delivering neonatal and transitional care as well as ensuring oversight of delivery of care through a service user voice lens.

The Neonatal Senior Lead will be responsible for leading this part of our work and together with our Maternity Senior Lead, developing an inclusive work plan that supports the system to make continuous improvement and deliver their KPIs.

This role will include being involved in reviewing patient safety reports and cases with adverse outcomes including brain injury and death, as well as providing scrutiny to patient safety plans and governance processes.

You will need access to your own transport and be able to regularly attend the neonatal unit in Truro as well as other venues across Cornwall.

**Who we are looking for**

We are looking for a Senior Neonatal Lead who:

- Is passionate about helping to develop and improve the experience of neonatal services for women, birthing people and their families whose babies require neonatal care
- Is an excellent communicator
- Is highly organised and willing and able to work flexibly
- Has lived experience of neonatal care
- Has not worked as a clinical professional within maternity and neonatal services
- Has experience of developing and leading projects.
- Has access to their own transport.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
