**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
As Despatch Supervisor you will report into the Logistics Manager and will be responsible for managing a team of around 8-10 direct staff plus subcontractor bookings. You will help run the department in a manner that ensures the product is stored safely and picked and loaded in full and dispatched on time, delivered as requested in the most cost efficient manner whilst meeting the standards required by our customers, company and various sites. You will be responsible for delivering KPI’s and costs in line with company strategy along with overseeing and adhering to H&S requirements within the department.
Other key areas within your role will be:
- To ensure smooth running of warehouse, despatch and transport.
- Route plan for 4-6 routes daily nationwide
- Ensure the warehouse/transport departments costs are managed in line with budget
- Ensure staffing levels within warehouse/transport is managed in line with business requirements
- Liaise with Production Management Team/Supply Chain and 3PL transport on a daily basis with regard to orders levels and delivery schedules
- Liaise closely with Scheduling Manager
- To positively contribute to continuous improvements to the department and the site
- Managing stock holding in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensuring your team are well managed, trained and help develop them where required

- Experience as a Despatch Supervisor/Team Leader ideally within manufacturing or similar
- Management or supervisory experience of small teams (circa 8-10 staff members)
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships with internal and external customers
- Good understanding and knowledge of H&S in a warehouse/transport environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to act, make decisions and thrive under pressure
- Be flexible and adaptable to short notice changes within the workloads and short notice changes within the department
- Fork-Lift licence and experience (preferred but not essential)
- Any other duties to assist the Logistics Manager in the day-to-day running of the department
Days of work: Mon to Fri
Hours of work: 40 per week
**Salary**: £25,000-£27,500 p.a. dependant on experience
**Salary**: £25,000.00 to £27,500.00 /year
