**Job Summary**

To provide services that have been delegated by a Clinical/Practitioner Psychologist who holds clinical responsibility, and to receive continuing close supervision.

To undertake psychological assessment and intervention, and contribute to and work within the organisational structure of Just Psychology CIC.

**Person Specification**
- Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology, and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (or Masters plus 2:2)
- Competent in use of computer based statistical packages eg Excel
- Postgraduate research experience
- Experience with adults in helping/counselling role.
- Previous experience as Assistant Psychologist.
- Experience of working with children, adolescents and families.
- Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of basic principles of methodology and statistics.
- Ability to organise data collection and analysis for research projects
- Ability to conduct literature searches
- Ability to keep accurate and confidential client records
- Ability to co-facilitate group therapy sessions
- Ability to both work under supervision and to use own initiative as appropriate.
- Ability to manage and organise tasks across different parts of the service
- Able to keep goal focused, and be self-motivated.
- Able to relate well to adults, children and young people
- Able to work flexibly and co-operatively as part of a team
- Committed to promoting issues of cultural diversity, cultural competence and social justice

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To assist in conducting and designing group and individual interventions with children, young people and parents
- To implement services within a multi-disciplinary context
- To carry out circumscribed psychological assessments and interventions (including psycho-educational sessions) under the supervision of a qualified psychologist or mental health practitioner
- To undertake detailed behavioural observations in a variety of settings, such as school, home, groups and play sessions
- To provide guidance and support to other Assistant Psychologists in the organisation on a daily basis, as required
- To participate in shadowing and case discussion
- To be able to write assessment reports, detailing the results of assessments and developmental histories taken from parents
- To assist with training and consultancy
- To assist in the implementation of service audit and evaluation procedures within Just Psychology by the derivation, collection and analysis of appropriate data.
- To keep up to date with new developments in the field, undertaking literature searches and reviewing available research to inform evidence-based practice.
- To undertake additional activities particularly in relation to liaison with community and voluntary groups.
- To participate in any training as determined through supervision and to develop understanding of psychological issues relating to children and families, especially those from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.
- To maintain records of various aspects of the work in line with professional standards, and requirements of the organisation.
- To manage time appropriately, keeping track of deadlines for projects and alerting the supervisor to any difficulties
- To be aware of and have knowledge of the policies and procedures of Just Psychology, including Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Information Sharing & Confidentiality, etc.
- To produce written reports and keep accurate and timely confidential client records as required, including the use of electronic systems.
- Undertaking other such duties as may be appropriate and required in the light of changing circumstances and the evolution of the organisation.
- To attend mandatory training in accordance with Just Psychology’s policies.
- To work within the Professional Practice Guidelines of the British Psychological Society, and receive regular clinical supervision from qualified psychologists.
