**Main Responsibilities**
- To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
- To administer all daily paper/e-filing which will include the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Manual.
- To prepare mail and enclosures for posting, where necessary.
- To be responsible for all printing and copying, if required.
- To make appointments, arrange meetings maintain an up-to-date diary for the fee earners and keep the Shared Hearings Diary up-to-date.
- To book Meeting Rooms for meetings as necessary and for the tidying and clearance of the room at the end of the meeting.
- To provide refreshments for clients and visitors, where required.
- To work as a team member and assist other secretaries during busy periods/periods of absence.
- To attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
- To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
- To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information.
- To make and receive telephone calls, alongside the firm’s other secretaries.
- Entering key dates on to file log and fee earners diary from Orders.

**Key Skills**
- High word-processing and audio-typing skills.
- Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary.
- Legal Aid Processes (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Good client care skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and understanding in somewhat difficult circumstances.
