**Job Purpose**
To provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment in a manner which takes account of the needs and wishes of the residents, whilst maintaining a high standard of home hygiene in line with infection control guidelines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To work in all areas of the residents Home, carrying out general cleaning duties as required.
- Ensure that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to.
- To encourage service users to assist in daily living tasks, to offer meaningful occupation, e.g., dusting and setting tables.
- Work collectively as a team to continuously improve care standards in accordance with the companies 10 key behaviours and legislation.
- To be aware of complying with Health and Safety practices.
- To attend training in COSHH regulations and use products in accordance with instructions given.
- Adhere to the Company’s dress code incorporating the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- To ensure that all cleaning trolly’s are stocked at the end of the shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy.
- To follow the correct colour code systems within the home.
- To be sensitive to the privacy and individuals needs of the residents.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition. Report any defect to the Home Manager.
**Main Duties**
- To complete bed making duties in all bedrooms and change linen as required.
- To serve Breakfast and assist any residents who may require support with eating and drinking.
- To assist care staff with non-personal care tasks as required e.g., serving food and drinks.
- Assist in setting and clearing tables in dining areas.
- To use equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and safety guidelines.
- Keep equipment clean and serviceable, reporting any hazards or faults to the Housekeeping Team Leader.
- To keep simple stock records, returns and cleaning schedules.
- Meet and greet visitors to the home, establishing identity in accordance with the homes security system and ensuring that visitors sign in and out of the home.
- To carry out such other duties, as may be required by the Company.
- Work collectively as a team and continuously promote and aim to improve care standards in accordance with the companies 10 key behaviours and legislation.

**Qualifications**:
- No formal qualification.
- Ability to undertake a Level II in Housekeeping.
- Level II in Housekeeping
Knowledge
- Ability to use and maintain essential cleaning equipment.
- Must be prepared to attend such training sessions as are deemed necessary by the Company
- Understanding of responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Infection control procedures
Experience / Skills
- Must have demonstrated the ability to work both as a team member and on own initiative.
- Able to organise and complete routine tasks to set standards.
- Awareness of the need to respect resident’s privacy and individuality.
- Must be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills.
- Have a knowledge and understanding of all infection control procedures.
- Ensuring the appropriate use of PPE
Personal
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- To be friendly, helpful, and courteous.
- To have a liking for older people and the ability to relate to them in a sensitive manner.
- To have a positive attitude and commitment to high standards of housekeeping.
- To be flexible and willing to cover shifts on an overtime basis.
