**Your role and responsibilities**

**Key purpose**: To deliver growth in veterinary care revenue across our team of vets by creating an engaged, inspired, retained veterinary team with an unswerving approach to excellence in clinical care, client experience, positive contribution to team resulting in positive, profitable, sustainable growth.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Overall responsibility for completing and utilising veterinary rotas to ensure maximum capacity is achieved and updating in house PMS
- Process annual leave for the veterinary team in line with the practice requirements
- Ensure vet inductions plans are adhered to
- Develop a successful team culture that supports Vet retention and development
- Full understanding of inputs to the veterinary care experience we offer at Blacks Vets with a unswerving approach to achieving consistently high standards
- Able to develop good working relationships with vets with a friendly, approachable attitude that inspires trust and confidence in the veterinary team
- Build a high performing, supportive culture within the veterinary team that radiates to clinical and non-clinical team members,
- Ability to analyse, understand and harness unique motivators to achieve professional fulfilment for both the vet and the practice
- A strong, influential communicator.
- Adapt to challenging situations and work with the SLT for these to be resolved
- Continually look for ideas to improve systems, processes and working practices within the veterinary team
- Working with the SLT to ensure all in house training is completed as required and we remain compliant
- To identify best practice and share across the team; time efficiencies and alternative approaches.
- Ensure strong, consistent and clear communication across the veterinary team.
- Chair vet monthly meetings and circulate minutes
- Liaise with mentors to continually improve mentoring, coaching and leadership skills
- Overall responsibility for defining training needs at a clinical, client experience and practice level, ensuring needs are met via Thinking Thursdays, and additional training as needed.
- Develop individual development plans per vet
- Input to rota management to facilitate a good vet team member and client experience
- Input to vet recruitment.
- Input to Wellbeing Strategy.
- Oversee Induction processes and sign off any new vets as ‘ready’ with support for the Clinical director
- Strong I.T skills including use of excel word and teams is advantageous
- In house training will be provided
