HSE Recruitment are currently exclusively recruiting a HSE Advisor for our client site in Birmingham. This role is replacing a valued member of staff and requires someone who understands the high hazard nature of our client’s industry, whilst being engagingand able to continue with some of the great culture work that the previous incumbent has started.
The role is based on a well-established site which has been utilised for many years. The site has many high hazard activities on site such as a foundry, hydraulic feeding and rolling machines, flattening, and shearing machines, 3 rolling and breaking down mills,as well as activities such as forklift trucks, cooling towers, hydrogen and nitrogen hazards, an LPG plant and asbestos amongst other things.
The shop floor are heavily involved in Safety and write their own SOP’s and risk assessments and accident investigations are taken very seriously and completed thoroughly. The company has a target of zero for LTI’s and currently have somewhere in the regionof 2 per year. In addition, the company now has many schemes in place such as 30 seconds to think that have really highlighted safety from shop floor to management. Overall, it is believed that they have an excellent standard of H&S for the industry - althoughof course there is always room for improvement.
