**Doncaster Council - Head Of Service - Adult Social Care - Future Options**

**Responsibilities include**:

- Taking lead responsibility for providing services and support to external bodies, customers andcommunities, such that residents and customers receive best value and feel safe and are safe.
- Leading, motivating and developing a team of people in line with the council's people managementprotocols and ensuring that teams are deployed efficiently and effectively to meet the needs andstrategic priorities of the council.
- Actively representing of the Council on external bodies and networks to make sure that councilinterests are managed effectively.
- Monitoring and developing policy and strategies relevant to the service area to ensure statutory andprofessional standards are met and, where viable, are beneficial to the council and customers andensuring that clear records are kept and mechanisms arein place to monitor emerging risks
- Ensuring people and communities feel safe and are safe, including working within the Council'sstatutory safeguarding duties and appropriately seeking to identify and address all forms of abuse andneglect
- Significant successful experience of management and adult social care services at a senior level
- Ability to assess emerging risks to vulnerable people and communities using information, adviceand collaborating with partners
- Significant understanding of the national agenda influencing Local Government and the widerpublic sector and a sound working knowledge of safeguarding in relation to Adults
- The ability to keep up to date with changing technical, legislative and organisational requirementsby undertaking appropriate Continual Professional Development and training

**Experience preferred**:

- Experience of working within an Adults Head of Service post within the UK.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- HCPC Registration
- 5 year post qualifying experience within UK Social Care industry
- Managerial experience
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
