This role sits within one of the businesses within the Group ESL - who are an electrical product trading business (ESL are a dynamic, innovative, and fast growing trading business).

**Purpose of the Import & Export Junior**

To be part of the shipping team booking and monitoring the inbound and outbound movement of goods in a fast paced, customer focused environment. Working closely with both the Import and Export Team Leader and Shipping Coordinator, to provide first class support to the shipping department and freight forwarders to assure on time shipments inbound and outbound.

This is a new role and has been created to help ensure that excellent customer service is provided while helping to ensure all appropriate import/export regulations are adhered to. This role requires a highly organised individual with excellent communication skills. Professional, confident, and totally reliable - this person will possess the ability to work effectively under pressure.

**Key Responsibilities - Import & Export Junior**
- Working within a small team of 2-3 other staff - within the larger office
- Working closely with purchasing, sales, and finance teams to ensure goods are transported on time
- Handling European groupage bookings and full/part loads from start to finish
- Track and provide routing information for incoming and outgoing shipments from departure to arrival at correct destination.
- Document process flows and procedures for the Import/Export Team
- Inputting data into excel and inhouse systems
- Liaise between carriers, sales agents, and support team to obtain up to date shipping information
- Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer and warehouse delivery requirements are met
- Passing carrier invoices
- Monitoring carrier performance to ensure all shipments move as agreed
- To calculate and use the current carrier rates in place
- Dealing with customs import and export paperwork
- Managing intercompany stock transfers between warehouses in multiple regions
- Liaising with internal and 3PL warehousing teams.
