**Geotechnical Systems Engineer** **Location**:Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9GR **Salary**:Competitive **Contract**:Full time, Permanent **We are GDS Instruments; we are recruiting and we want you** We are a division of Global Digital Systems Ltd and we design, develop and manufacture materials testing machines and software and software used for the computer-controlled testing of soils and rocks. This technology is used to evaluate the mechanical properties that are key in geotechnical and earthquake engineering design We are now recruiting for a Geotechnical Systems Engineer to support our customers in the office and in customer laboratories internationally. **As our,Geotechnical Systems Engineer you will be responsible for**: - Preparing and maintaining product manuals - System assembly and QA testing - In-house testing - De-bugging and problem solving - Installation and training of our equipment **In order to be successful in this role you must have**: - Minimum graduate level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer or similar, ideally with some experience in geotechnical lab testing. Experience of writing papers or other technical literature an advantage. - Excellent presentation and communication skills in English, both oral and written. - Ability to quickly learn in-house developed software packages. - A basic understanding and confidence to work with electronic/electrical components and systems. - Ability to think logically and problem solve software, mechanical and electrical issues. - The capability to independently manage time and prioritise work whilst maintaining agreed deadlines. - A flexible approach to work and be prepared to work with any member of the team. - The desire to learn new ideas and concepts. - Experience of Microsoft office for report writing and scientific data interpretation. **If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role click on "APPLY" today, forwarding an up to date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance.** No agencies please.
