**Where and when do we need you?**
Fair Ways are actively seeking motivated, caring and person focused Education Outreach Support Workers to join our dedicated team providing support and education to vulnerable young people within the community. This specialist support could be undertaken in a range of locations such as assisting students with time spent at college and in other further education environments such as libraries, parks, other open spaces and other appropriate learning locations.
**About our specialist support**:
This role is supporting a young male with his transition from primary to secondary education. The young person was previously in a specialist primary school that supported severe learning difficulties and is now being supported in the community with educational support linked to a SEND secondary school. Most of the young people we support will have a severe level of learning difficulties, and many have associated disabilities such as autism, speech and language disorders and challenging behaviour and as such may require some personal care as part of the support.
Applicants will need to be passionate about relationship building linked to behavioural management and establishment of safe and secure boundaries. This role will sit as part of a team of 3 support workers and will be strengthened with dedicated in-depth training and development from our in-house training team with specific focus on Relationship Inspired Ideas for Supportive Environments, this ethos is deeply rooted in theories of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic culture with the overarching theme of reducing the use of restrictive practice.
As a Support worker working as part of this exciting new team, you will:
- Provide flexible pre-planned educational support in the community and in an educational setting to young people with different levels of need, abilities and behaviours.
- Implement and deliver each Individual Education Plan, in order to contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of each student.
- Be part of a team providing a minimum of 2:1 support (flexible based on potential risk and needs) and be proactive in undertaking pre-planned activities and skills development in both a school and community setting.
- Contribute, adhere to and regularly update person centred care plans, risk assessments and management plans of the young people, in conjunction with colleagues and other professionals, to promote and safeguard their welfare.
**Working pattern**:
This role is offered on a permanent basis contracted to flexible hours of 30 - 37.5 hours per week. The pattern will usually work Monday - Friday, 9- 3, working every other weekend in place of 2 weekday shifts. Due to the nature of the post, there may be some flexibility required which can be discussed.
- Travel time and mileage is paid in addition.

- Previous experience of working with young people and/or adults with health/social care/educational needs
- A Level 3 qualification in childcare/social care
