*Job Summary*
The Accounts Data Entry Clerk is responsible for entering financial data into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and completeness. The role involves processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and assisting with general accounting tasks.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Data Entry**:
- Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system (e.g., invoices, receipts, payments).
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records.
- Input data related to accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- **Invoice Processing**:
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure they are coded correctly.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and verify the accuracy of information.
- Track and record payments made to vendors and received from clients.
- **Record Maintenance**:
- Maintain organized and accurate electronic and paper records of financial documents.
- Ensure all financial data is up-to-date and available for review by management and auditors.
- **Reconciliation**:
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and accounts.
- Help identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- **General Support**:
- Assist the accounting team with routine tasks, such as filing, answering queries, and preparing reports.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Provide data entry support for special projects as needed.
- **Compliance**:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
- **Experience**:
- Previous experience in data entry, particularly in an accounting or finance environment, is preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
- **Skills**:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of files or office supplies.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £11.50-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
