Purpose

As a trainee, you will learn how the department is run, have full instruction on our payroll software, attend relevant courses and assist with the administrative work for the department. As a successful firm of Chartered Accountants, we provide payroll services for our clients and with the recent introduction of Auto Enrolment and RTI, and legislation continually being updated, the need has arisen for a new member of staff.

Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the general activities of the payroll team to include training, to enable you to assist in payroll preparation for our clients
- Provide general administrative support to the payroll team to include filing, data entry, typing and assisting in the management of communications and paperwork
- Assist the team to make improvements and implement required changes
- Liaise with external clients
- Reporting
- Maintain accurate records and documentation associated with your work
- Immediately report problems that may impact on the organisation or our clients
- Responsibly use resources and control expenses to meet agreed budgetary controls
- Contribute towards the smooth running of the team

Skills Required
- No former experience is necessary in this area; however, due to the nature of the work involved, we require a minimum of GCSE Maths and English.
- Ability to show initiative and work within a team.
- Ability to build good client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations
