Local Unit & Position Description:
**Do you have a passion for digital innovation driven by digitalization and decarbonization, and want to solve complex challenges in the energy industry?**
DNV is in the middle of a digital transformation, as are the industries in which we operate. Our Growth, Innovation and Digital team in the UK and Ireland is seeking
**a Senior Consultant **who will be part of a highly competent and passionate team helping our customers in the energy industry to prepare for the future by trusting their digital assets and provide data-driven insights to enhance performance and ensure compliance.
The
**assurance of digital twins, sensors, and machine learning systems along with data assurance and data quality** is a growth area for our business; we see a growing demand for our services across the entire energy value chain and need to strengthen our team.
Energy Systems is committed to tackle the energy transition and work with customers to achieve decarbonization in line with the Paris Agreement goals. Our company purpose is to safeguard life, property and the environment and in this role you will support the digital, growth and innovation team to do this.
Position Qualifications:
Millions of decisions concerning the design, construction and operation of real-world assets will be taken based on their digital twins. Some digital twins in the energy industry represent a simple component. Others span entire facilities. The risk is that digital technology may not in itself guarantee higher returns.
The promise of digital possibilities can often drive decisions to buy digital twins instead of business needs. This can result in an incorrectly specified digital twin. Problems can also emerge during operation if the digital twins are not adequately maintained and updated as the real-world asset evolves.
Assurance of digital assets and systems is a core element of the DNV strategy. As response, DNV along with its strategic partners developed the industry’s first recommended practice for quality assurance of digital twins (DNV-RP-A204) to complement further recommended practices around Data Quality; Machine Learning Models and Algorithms; Simulation Models; and Sensor Systems. We also see growing demand for services linked to data assurance, with our energy system customers keen to build confidence around the policies, processes and people that govern access to data assets.
**Your role will involve**:
- Owning the development of specific deliverables within digital (twin) advisory and assurance projects
- Working with clients across the energy sector on digital (twin) advisory and assurance projects
- Writing proposals to support the development of new business
- Presenting key deliverables to our clients’ organisations
Carrying out activities, including:
- Engaging with external customers on topics related to digitalization and innovation with a focus on exploring the market potential of new services and features.
- Working with engineers in the energy industry across the entire value chain (e.g. decarbonization, renewables, power grids, gas transmission and distribution).
- Introducing relevant digital services to local markets, creates customer value, engaging with Veracity - DNV’s open industry data platform - onboarding and Digital Sales where relevant.
- Adept at wielding some (or all) of the following frameworks and techniques: Agile and Scrum; Data Ecosystem Mapping; User Story / Journey Mapping.
**Competency Requirements**
**Networking** - builds a useful network of contacts and relationships. Has a client focus and the ability to engage and interact with clients.
**Analysis & Judgement** - quickly understands and analyses complex issues and problems; comes up with sound and rational judgements.
**Self development** - is aware of own strengths and limitations and pursues learning and career development opportunities.
**Effective communication** - communicates in a clear, precise and structured way; speaks with authority and conviction; presents effectively.
