Help shape the most advanced Engine Manufacturing Centre ever built in the UK. A plant that’s set to change the look of engine manufacturing across the industry, thanks to your expertise and vision.
Driving our success from within, you’ll use your warehouse or linefeed design experience combined with advanced analytical skills to lead the development of lean logistics solutions that directly contribute to the production of next generation of engines. Engines that will power future Jaguar and Land Rover models and make an impression around the world.

Key Responsibilities

Taking your place as a Launch Material Flow Engineer, you’ll be integral to the development of the plant, and our rapidly-expanding future. It’s a role with an incredibly exciting future and one that will see you:

- Lead a small launch material flow team and act as launch champion for the plant MP&L team:

- Lead and support new engine programmes that emerge at least 12 months prior to implementation
- Set, track, and adhere to delivery milestones against maintained master schedule
- Attend and update launch programme reviews regards MP&L delivery against plan
- Create and revise logistics strategies for new engine programmes
- Combine your logistics design experience and keen analytical skills to provide timely and accurate desk top studies timed to meet programme gateways
- Produce fact driven, lean logístical solutions that deliver value across a balanced agenda (safety, quality, delivery, cost)
- Use benchmarking, industry knowledge, and other research methods to identify potential opportunities for the latest logistics technology and methodologies to drive Best-in-Class solutions
- Deliver design and specification for new logistics equipment / infrastructure and manage spend for programmes within budget
- Integrate launch plans with lead logistics provider (LLP) teams to ensure accuracy in budget setting and that milestone dates remain challenging but realistic
- Challenge programme status quos to reduce wastes across the proposed logistics operation and work with cross functional launch leads to deliver efficiencies for the greater good of the plant
- Create and maintain Value Stream Map for each programme to support in achieving an optimum balance across the plant supply chain covering inbound and outbound freight, packaging factors, in-plant material flow, storage and handling methods
- Manage and lead the internal packaging team in line with BAU requirements and launch activities.

Skills, experience and qualifications required
- Advanced analytical and MS Excel Skills
- Process mapping and design
- SAP Knowledge
- Line Management Experience
- 2+ Years Logistics Industry Work Experience
