One of the largest libraries in the world based in Euston, Central London is in urgent need of Assistants to support them within their reading rooms. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a wonderful team and a historic British institution
We will be carrying out tours in the coming week for those that have been successfully selected to view the role in person.
**Job purpose**:
To deliver exceptional levels of customer service through the provision of access to the collections both to Readers in the reading rooms and other remote and internal users. Also to play a role in the maintenance both of reading rooms and the collection bycontributing to collection moves and Preservation requirements.
**Main tasks**:

- Expected to demonstrate a willingness to take on a range of tasks, as appropriate, in own or other departments/directorates to support the delivery of the Library's services as required by line management
- Undertake tasks involved in the delivery and planning of key areas of operation such as:

- Collection of Books from and returning them to the libraries
- Maintenance of collection storage capacity including implementation of enabling collection moves
- Retrieval, delivery, and replacement of collection items
- Provision of Reading Room services to Readers
- Supporting the maintenance of the reading rooms
- Providing Customer service to guests and readers should they have queries

**Additional information**
Work within the collection reading room areas may be physically demanding requiring a lot of walking and manual handling.
The person is expected to work flexibly as required
