We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate British Sign Language (BSL) Learning Support Assistant. As a BSL Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who are deaf or have hearing impairments, ensuring their inclusion and access to education.

**This is full-time role Working hour would be 8:30 - 3:30 Monday - Friday.**

We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible with continuation in September. We are also open to September start

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with hearing impairments, utilizing BSL to facilitate effective communication and understanding.
- Assist students in understanding and completing educational tasks, including note-taking, assignments, and exams.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
- Adapt and modify educational materials to suit the specific needs of each student, ensuring accessibility and comprehension.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering independence, confidence, and self-advocacy skills among students with hearing impairments.
- Provide support during extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school events to ensure equal participation for students with hearing impairments.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting any concerns to the appropriate individuals.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress, challenges, and achievements.

**Requirements**:

- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential. Possession of a relevant qualification, such as BSL Level 2 or higher, is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with hearing impairments.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and tailor support accordingly.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Flexibility to work with students across different age groups and educational settings.
- A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and inclusion within an educational environment.
