Deerfoot IT Recruitment is helping a market-leading developer and supplier of mission-critical solutions to the public sector find a full-time Support Engineer for their team in Fareham. This IT role comes with a salary of £25,000-30,000 and a additionalshift allowance and onsite allowance of £5400 pa.

The Support Engineer position is primarily a technical service desk role based in Fareham; however, you will occasionally be expected to work from other locations. You will have a shift pattern of 2 x days 07.00 - 19.00, 2 x nights 19.00 - 07.00, and 4 daysoff. This is a 24/7/365 shift pattern.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do as Support Engineer:

- Liaise with several 3rd party providers and internal teams to coordinate various activities and gather/provide the information required to complete the tasks at hand
- Complete all activities within set deadlines and appropriately report any difficulties to achieve SLA/delivery milestones
- Triage of incidents, incident resolution, and proactive maintenance of company systems

We are looking for an experienced support/triage engineer with a can-do attitude that has an eye for detail and works well in busy environments. The role will involve extensive customer contact on both a technical and non-technical level, requiring a professionaland adaptable approach to communication and interaction/service. To apply, you will need:

- At least 2-years of service desk experience at either a 1st or 2nd line level
- Experience with Shift working Day and night on a fixed 12-hour shift rotation
- Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving with a working knowledge of MSSQL Application and TCP/IP network support
- Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows 10, and Windows Server up to 2016

In return for your knowledge and expertise, you will receive a favourable salary of £25,000-30,000 + shift allowance of £5400pa and £3000 onsite allowance.
