**The Project**:
Skanska is the Delivery Integration Partner (DIP) on Highways England’s Regional Development Partnership (RDP) Framework within the Midlands and East Regions. The A46 Newark Bypass will be our third project in this framework bringing the combined value toover £1bn in the region.
At the heart of our approach for delivering successful scheme outcome for the A46 is having the right people at the right time and creating an environment that promotes integration and collaboration across individuals and organisations.
**The Team**:
You will be joining the A46 team and will be responsible for management of design during the project phases from pre-construction to delivery and handover. The A46 team are focused on creating the environment and collaborative platform to drive a holisticapproach to solution development. That requires good integration of people, processes, information and systems.
The key objectives is to deliver safer outcomes, right first time solutions, predictable delivery, maximised benefit realisation and scheme outcomes.
You will work with the team to develop project plans that support the overall strategic objectives e.g. Design Strategy, Design Management Plan, Green Design Plan, Design Maturity Assessment and Commercial Strategy.
**The following areas are key to successful performance**:
Technical Integration - Facilitate and support scheme team integration, coordination and communication, including external stakeholders and supply partners with regards to design and engineering
Technical Management Systems and Processes - Adopting and using a consistent approach across the team
Technical Excellence - Ensure efficiency of processes, design and health and safety
Technical Quality Assurance - Manage and facilitate internal and client quality assurance and control requirements
Technical Stream Performance Management and Analytics - Managing, monitoring and reporting team performance and project controls
Technical Stream Commercial Management - Ensure technical and commercial compliance, including change control
Participate and contribute to the DIP continuous improvement programme.
The proposed role will work closely with the design supply chain and have access wider Skanska design management community.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Manage the design process according to Skanska Policy and Customer Requirements
- Manage the permanent works design team including specialist designers, internal designers and subcontractors responsible for their own design elements.
- Manage and monitor performance, including KPIs
- Manage the interfaces between disciplines / design, planning and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities.
- Be involved at all stages of a project
- Manage relationships and collaboration between the design team, client, Skanska and stakeholders
**Skills, experience and qualifications**
- Holds or is close to achieving a relevant professional qualification
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Has ability in project-based design management and BIM.
- Ability of working on a major highways scheme and of supervising others.
- Experience of work on or near Network Rail assets preferred but not essential.
- Ability of design management at pre-construction and construction phases and of supervising others.
