Warehouse Operative Mon-fri 1900-2400

Our service centres play a pivotal role in the success of our business and are responsible for ensuring that we deliver potentially lifesaving medicines to an extensive network of local customers on a twice daily basis. This is a vital and varied role, involving the accurate picking and packing of orders within the automated system, the medical bulk area, the fridge area and secure areas, and providing assistance in the the transport environment. You should also adhere to all health and safety guidelines and maintain good housekeeping practices. You will work in a tidy and methodical manner and take pride in a high standard of accuracy. You should be flexible to suit the needs of the business and approach all new tasks with a positive attitude. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have intermediate Numeracy and Literacy. You will need to be physically capable of standing for long periods, as well as bending and lifting. This role is contracted for Monday-Friday 19:00 to 24:00. It must be noted that all shifts work on a "job until finish basis" as our workload varies - all colleagues are expected to stay after their contracted times if the workload requires it. Overtime is not guaranteed but may be available across the working week. Alliance Healthcare is a leading distributor and wholesaler of pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products, serving over 16,200 pharmacies, hospitals and dispensing doctors throughout the UK on a twice daily basis. We have an essential role to play in the medical supply chain and everything that we do as a company will ultimately impact upon the end user, the patient.
