The Role
You will be accountable for delivering a successful **procurement** platform on both a **strategic** and operational basis and have successfully led **procurement negotiations** successfully in previous roles. You must have a desire to grow, develop and take forward our**procurement** platform, working hand in hand with the Exec and managers to achieve optimum success. This is a greatopportunity for the right person to flourish in a**growing business and industry**. The role involves leading all areas of **procurement** within the company. From product management, sourcing/purchasing product, and managing the network of partners to ensure best value and customer satisfaction
This is a key and **crucial role** that works alongside inventory and logistics, as a new postholder you need to be **dynamic**, have excellent negotiation and communication skills and will be a driving force across the company working with both internal and external stakeholders.
Really exciting opportunity as it forms a key part of the newly proposed structure and it’s anticipated that over time this role will grow and will encompass several more direct reports across logistics and inventory reporting into it.
Main
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage a team comprising of a product analyst and buyer to facilitate best value stock **procurement** and maintain lean inventory levels using relevant sourcing tools
- Manage reactive workflow through the department from sales to contracts
- Negotiate favourable terms and agreements at all levels with vendors
- Contract and framework agreement drafting where appropriate including rebates and payment terms
- Approval of purchase orders in accordance with budget, company terms and conditions
- Vendor assessment, management and appraisal, establishing relationships with a global supply chain to ensure best value and compliance to expected standards whilst promoting strong ethical and cooperative values
- Support Operations with warehouse and distribution contracts.
- Stock investments and bulk purchasing of hardware. Bid Support
- Supply market and product knowledge for new bids
- Facilitate sustainable, best value costing and innovating supply solutions for bid team early in bid process
- Investigate repair, warranty, OEM and framework agreements
- Work with bid team on stock level and location planning in line with budgetary and SLA constraints Management and Reporting
- Manage and motivate the team to create a winning team culture
- Team training, support and mentoring
- Research green technology and incentives for the company
- Provide and report on KPIs for the team and department (purchasing effectiveness, reduced stock valuation, owned stock, data accuracy etc)
- Other business analysis reporting related to **procurement** and inventory management as required Product Management
- Work with other functions to manage internal para number database integrity
- Work with other functions to manage product5 alternatives
- Manage excess and obsolete (E&)) stock reports to provide strategies for future minimisation and suggest tactical solutions
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Level 4 CIPS or above qualified
- An understanding of Quality Management Systems, ie ISO 9000
- Demonstrable planning and procurement management experience ideally within the IT industry
- Strong negotiation and inter personal skills
- Acute commercial acumen and awareness of financial, budgetary and SLA constraints
- Proficient in using planning software such as MCA, Xelus or SAP bespoke ERP systems
- Strong relationship management skills
- Effective leadership skills and an active team player
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
- Customer focused, particularly during challenging times
- Determined to always meet KPIs and objectives
- skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines particularly crucial during continued company growth.
