£30,000-35,000 + Training, Overtime, Pension and Holidays

Due to a promotion in our clients business, they are now recruiting for a Quality Controller to join their team in the Chester Area on a Days based position.

**Role Description**
- Working with the production team
- Responsible for factory food safety and quality checks including metal detection, temperature checks, weight checks, traceability, packaging and labelling as well as batch coding
- Responsible for completion of factory traceability paperwork
- Prepare and collect samples for laboratory testing including swabs, product, water, raw materials etc
- Conduct product quality checks against specification including colour, taste, inclusions (wash out tests), volumetric tests etc
- Assist with enforcing GMP hygiene controls
- Support with quality/food safety control including putting product on hold in liaison with both the production and technical teams
- Support with product launches
- Support with calibration of probes, scales and other equipment as required against schedule
- Assist in preparations for and during audits e.g. BRC and customers
- Support in training of factory personnel on procedures/systems and briefings
- Assist in investigations e.g. customer complaints, non-conformances or micro
- Reporting and highlighting quality/food safety concerns to relevant personnel
- Support factory staff where appropriate and required

**Skills and Qualifications**

Essential-- Experience working within a food manufacturer, ideally chilled foods
- Accuracy, attention to detail and numerate approach to provide data on time in the right format.
- Time management, be able to work on own initiative both solo and as a team.
- Confident, articulate, and courteous communicator over the phone, face-to-face and in writing.
- Undertakes tasks with enthusiasm and always takes pride in his/her work. Communicates effectively at all levels, considers others' opinions and always treats others with respect.
- Numeracy skills.
- Proficient on Microsoft Office.

Desirable-- Internal Audit Training
- Food Hygiene (Basic) Training
- HACCP Level 2 training
