We are looking to recruit our first Apprentice Dietitian to our friendly team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. As a Trust, we see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on-the-job experience.
Dietitians are qualified and regulated health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems. Dietitians use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which they translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
You will undertake a Level 6 Dietetic Integrated Degree Apprenticeship whilst you work closely with our supportive team to gain the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for this new role. The duration of this apprenticeship will be 3 years and on successful completion you will be eligible for HCPC Registration as a Dietitian.
This post holder will be responsible for supporting Registered Dietitians in planning and implementing dietetic care for patients in ward, clinic and community environments. The post holder will also participate in training of other health care professionals as well as delivering group education to patients and to community groups. One day per week will be dedicated to 'off-the-job' training in conjunction with Sheffield Hallam University, who will deliver remote learning.

We are building a workforce that can help us to fulfil our values, improve quality of care for patients, and solve the health care problems of tomorrow. We’re passionate about the value that diversity of thinking and lived experience brings in enabling us to become a learning organisation and leader in delivering compassionate care for our patients.
We are delighted that we have been rated as “Good” by CQC. We have achieved numerous awards; The Nursing Times Best Diversity and Inclusion Practice and Best UK Employer of the Year for Nursing Staff in 2020.
