**Senior Commercial Officer**

**Portsmouth - Hybrid Working**

**£40,000 - £47,940**

**Brief**

Senior Commercial Officer needed for a leading defence and engineering organisation with offices in the Portsmouth area who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Commercial Officer that takes pride in their work.

**What the role entails**:
**Some of the main duties of theSenior Commercial Officerwill include**:

- Day to day management and administration of bids (bid approvals/governance, preparation of quotes/proposals) and contracts with a wide customer base
- Generation of suitable NDA and teaming agreements in accordance with policy
- Negotiation of proposals with potential customers and support to Supply Chain with flow down of terms
- Working with the internal legal team and external legal advisors as required to ensure all contracts have the necessary legal input/governance
- Following receipt of customer order, ensuring appropriate contract launch is held with the Project Delivery Team
- Input to monthly reporting cycle to ensure key contractual commitments are met during project execution phase

**What experience you need to be the Senior Commercial Officer**:

- An understanding of terms and conditions and contract law
- Broad professional knowledge of Commercial Principles, techniques and practices
- Ability to influence others and provide sound logic for recommendations and decisions

**Desirable**:

- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the different types of intellectual property and able to identify situations where new intellectual property is being generated and/or where issues may arise
- A defence background would be beneficial but not essential
