This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.
We have an opportunity for a Cleaning Supervisor to join our team as part of our contract with the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, based in Ipswich, IP4 5PD.
This is a Full Time role where you will be working 35 hours per week, on a fortnight rotation including 1 week.
The rate of pay is £11.03 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.54 per hour on Saturday’s and £22.03 for any hours worked on Sundays.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn and develop as a Cleaning Supervisor, where you will be responsible for the planning, supervision and control of the day-to-day Housekeeping and Healthcare Cleaning Services, ensuring that service delivery meets withthe required service standards within designated areas of control within the Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Other Key Responsibilities as Cleaning Supervisor:
Health and Safety
? Maintain a Healthy, Safe and Secure working environment in line with current legislation and Trust
policies and procedures.
? Engage all staff in awareness of and adherence to maintenance of a safe working environment.
? Ensure all staff receive H&S training as relevant to their role.
? Report any incidents or complaints effectively and within the company, Trust and legislative guidelines.
? Ensure that all staff within the services use all mechanical and electrical equipment in a correct and safe
manner, using appropriate methods of work and complying with training and PPE requirements.
Planning and Control
? Monitor and control costs associated with the department’s service provision in line with management
instruction.
? Ensure correct resource levels are maintained to meet service provision.
? Manage annual leave requests in accordance with operational requirements and management
instruction.
? Ensure forward planning with training sessions from the annual training calendar.
? Promote and maintain accurate completion of paperwork.
Customers
? Conduct yourself in a professional manner providing confidentiality, privacy and dignity is maintained at
all times in accordance within the Trust and legislative policies and guidelines.
? Ensure that all communications from the Trust, Client Teams, and the Company are cascaded as
appropriate.
? Build solid relationships and develop effective communication with the Trust Client(s), and other NHS
customers to support building and maintaining excellent relationships.
? Demonstrate a proactive approach in response to the needs of the customer.
? Ensure the image of the service reflects the professional image of the company.
Reporting
? Ensure the quality and performance of the service provided by the department is monitored and
reported as required.
? Act upon audit feedback, initiating appropriate actions where necessary.
People Management
? Provide supervision, guidance and support to staff within the Housekeeping and Healthcare Cleaning
Services to ensure they carry out their roles efficiently and effectively and follow relevant legislative,
Trust operating standards to achieve the department’s service provision objectives.
the company and Trust communication, training and managerial practices.
? Ensure staff are supervised in accordance with the relevant Trust policy in relation to training, absence
management, disciplinary and grievance.
? Create, maintain and strengthen effective working relationships with the Trust, colleagues and other
interested organisations and individuals.
? Conduct the Company’s appraisal process for subordinates, identifying their development and training
needs and facilitating solutions to address them.
? Participate and conduct, as required, in regular team meetings, performance reviews, job chats, return
to work discussions and accidents and other investigations.
? Ensure all staff attend the company induction and training into the service.
Change Management
? Support service change, delivery of results and service excellence.
? Undertake project work as determined by the line manager.
? To carry out other related duties as required in keeping with the grade and purpose of the post.

Essential Criteria
? Experience at interfacing at various levels throughout the organisation, gaining and maintaining
credibility with all people.
? Ability to influence and work under some pressure.
? Good team player with a degree of initiative and creativity.
? Can demonstrate an eye for detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
? Creative and effective reaction to operational issues.
Desirable Criteria:
? Level 3 Food Safety Certificate.
