**Overview**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data and Infrastructure Officer to join our Public Transport Team. You will be part of a busy and friendly team who are responsible for co-ordinating all activities associated with the tendered bus network and the information and infrastructure across the County, helping us to promote and develop a high quality local bus network.

**About us**:

- Our team sits within the Communities Directorate as part of Transport Services.
- We are a small but dedicated team with, among other responsibilities, the production of high quality and comprehensive information relating to bus services. We are required to react to changes to timetables on the commercial bus network.
- The wider team also manages bus contracts, bus pass issuing and roadworks impacting bus services and as a team we assist across all disciplines during busy periods or periods of absence.
- As a team with a specialist focus, we strive to ensure the best outcomes for residents and are often in contact with the public over matters which concern the operation of the bus network
- As well as Public Transport, the service area also has the Schools’ Sustainable Travel Team who manage and run initiatives to encourage non-car use to school including the school crossing patrol service. The two teams work alongside each other to promote and develop our service offerings.

**About the role**:

- The main responsbilties of the role are to manage to the flow of data from operators regarding bus service timetable changes, checking, inputting and exporting that information into national databases, internal systems and onto roadside information. You will also assist in the preparation of information for the Buckinghamshire Council website.
- In addition, the role will have responsibility for managing the NAPTAN bus stop database, ensuring that this is maintained accurately and exported regularly to the national database.
- With support from the Lead Officer and Head of Service, the post holder will also be the day to day contact for our contract providers, in particular, Vix for the Real Time Passenger Information displays and Trapeze for the Bus Stop Database. This will include monitoring the passenger transport mailbox alongside colleagues and ensuring faults with this system are reported and followed up and that new orders are delivered.

- Buckinghamshire Council is highly regarded for the quality of information it produces for the roadside and by maintaining an estate of over 250 real time passenger information displays at bus stops. This role is an opportunity to be integral to that process and to work with our providers to develop our offering further.
- This is a unique opportunity for either someone with a solid background in database management, project work or experience of working within the bus industry who has the skills learn the specialist systems and processes we use.

**Any-Desk**:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.

**About you**:
You will have a keen attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be able to plan and manage your own workload and be able to prioritise this accordingly with the input of management in the team.

Our team work a hybrid model of home working and office working, generally with 1-2 days per week in the office, although the office can accommodate a greater number of days in the office.

The post holder will occasionally be required to attend meetings in person and access to a vehicle would be an advantage.
