Lab & Logistics Operative

**The**Opportunity**:
Avantor is looking for **Lab &** **Logistics Operative**, to join the team based in **Slough, UK** In this position, you’ll handle data entry for parcel deliveries, prepare orders, conduct stock checks, arrange shipments, book couriers, manage medical gases, and provide customer service. You'll be part of our Stores team, supporting global pharmaceutical companies and laboratories in Life Sciences R&D.

**_ Scientific/laboratory-based_**_ experience is not required for this role, as full training will be provided._**

This role will be a full-time permanent position based at the customer site - UCB in Slough. Next to an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as a bonus pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and an additional day off for your birthday.

**Working hours**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30

**The team**

You’ll belong to a collaborative team of 6 in our business department Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

**What we’re looking for**

**_ Education:_**_ _Five GCSE’s including Maths and English

**_ Experience:_**
- Experience working in a warehousing, stores or lab environment is desirable
- Ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis
- Proficient in various IT systems particularly Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar stock management system experience is desirable
- Proven excellent customer service focus and ability to work collaboratively

**How you’ll thrive and create an impact**
- Communicate with the lab management teams regularly to understand what support they need in the lab and stores operations
- Provide regular glassware and plastics collection, washing and, sterilisation services (steam, dry or filtration) for the scientists to use within the laboratories.
- To assist the scientific personnel, carry out routine cleaning and performance checking of equipment (pH meters and balances) keeping accurate results of work.
- Preparations of media and standard reagents as required and maintain stocks of both sterile and non-sterile consumable items within the laboratories.
