**Java Software Developer**

**12 month Contract**

Inside IR35 PAYE £375-400 per day

FPSG has exciting opportunities for high-performing Java Engineers to join a growing team in Glasgow. This organization can offer a range of diverse, enterprise projects. As a Java Engineer, you will work with a range of high-end solutions, focused on continuous innovation & development. You will require a blend of core **Java, SQL, Microservices, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting,** and an **Agile approach**.

**As a Java Developer your responsibilities will include**:

- Primarily a full life-cycle design and development focused Java developer
- Delivering complex Java engineering solutions middle to back end.
- Contributing to computationally complex data intensive problems
- Creating and re-writing specific systems components to be distributed to the cloud.
- All roles will focus on a core technical stack, but seek engineers who are continually trying to improve, learn new skills, languages development utilities, and techniques as required
- All roles require everyone to have an Agile approach and to be able to work together effectively.

**To be a successful Java Engineer you will need experience of**:

- Extensive core Java skills (Minimum Java 8 - ideally Java 11)
- Familiarity with basic data structures; lists, maps, trees, graphs.
- Comfortable with multi-threaded programming
- Basic knowledge of SQL

Offices are based in Glasgow City Centre and to ensure collaborative agile approaches 2 or 3 days a week in the office will be desired. Hence residing or relocating to a commutable distance is required.

**Reward**

This assignment is for 12 months, although likely a 2-year engagement. Day rates are PAYE inside IR35 with a fully paid holiday entitlement, the rate will depend on experience.
