The key purpose of this role is to strategically drive, lead and oversee the Operational Control and Assurance teams across 3 different sites, one based abroad. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation, delivery and ongoingmonitoring against the Group Ops 1st line of Assurance framework.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure continued successful delivery of an effective Ops 1st LoD in line with the approved Ops Control and Assurance framework covering the Operational functions and the Ops Control & Assurance team
- Establish an annual risk based Ops 1st Line Assurance plan covering: Transactional Assurance, Control Testing Assurance, E2E reviews and Customer Outcome Testing
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders across Operations and support functions to conduct regular business function risk assessments to establish key / process risks, mitigating key / non key controls and control testing approach feeding into the RCSA andOps 1st Line of Assurance framework
- Own and maintain the RCSA for the Ops Control and Assurance function, establishing control testing approach for area of responsibility and in line with the Ops Risk Management framework
- Work with senior stakeholders to report on observations, findings, and recommendations to develop areas of opportunity identified through on-going independent transactional assurance, control testing, customer outcomes and process reviews
- Present to senior management effective updates on planned activity, emerging and identified risks on area of responsibility and as required present at OpsCo and other business committees or working groups specifically covering the level of assurance aroundOperational processes and effectiveness.
- Facilitate and run workshops to promote the understanding of the Ops Risk principles and operating model with the aim to inspire confidence in your colleagues through your ability to communicate and embed understanding of end to end operational processingrisks and controls
- Continually look for areas of opportunity to improve and develop the quality tools being used within Ops Control and Assurance (1.5) team to keep up with industry standards
- Line manage and coach all direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.

Experience required:

- Equivalent to 6 years’ Operational Management experience within a financial services quality control function is essential.
- 5 years’ experience in delivering and managing Operational Risk Control Self-Assessment programmes is essential
- 5 years’ previous experience of stakeholder management with the ability to develop and effectively inspire and motivate staff while maintaining alignment with the business strategy is essential.
- 5 years’ experience working across multi locations and offshore business function is essential.
