Huntingdon, United Kingdom Cambridgeshire County Council Full time

An opportunity has arisen within the Learning and Development Team (L&D) for a Data & Information Assistant who will have the option to complete the level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship over a 2-year period.

You’ll be joining a friendly and welcoming team of just over 40 colleagues, we support the learning and development of Council colleagues through our Learning Management System which hosts e-Learning modules and a booking system for face to face and virtual training. Alongside this, we support staff to complete Apprenticeships and work-based qualifications.

We also provide continuous professional development opportunities for Social Workers and are committed to supporting local universities by providing placements for their Student Social Workers, which is managed by the L&D team.

The postholder will be able to work flexibly from home or from our Stanton House office in Huntingdon when the need arises. We are also able to offer flexible and part time working patterns, these allow everyone to effectively blend their work and life commitments. At Cambridgeshire County Council, we know that we work better if we are able to have flexibility in our working arrangements, and we want to help everyone to achieve this, so please talk to us about the working pattern that would most suit you to be successful in this role.

The role will involve:

- Data entry and maintenance of learner information into multiple databases
- Exporting this data into excel for analysis, identifying errors, inconsistencies and highlighting trends
- Using the data to produce reports and dashboards within set timescales
- Undertake finance tasks associated with the role
- Quality checks of apprenticeship eligibility against funding rules
- Respond to Apprenticeship/qualification queries in a timely manner

The postholder should have good administration skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills will also be required as you will be liaising with a variety of people across the organisation as well as colleagues from the private, voluntary and independent sector.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to deadlines. You should have a methodical, concise and flexible approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases where full training will be given.

Don’t worry if you can’t yet fully demonstrate the essential criteria - a willingness to learn and develop is just as important and, if you decide to go down the apprenticeship route, we will support you fully on your journey.
