We are on the lookout for an Area Operations Manager to cover the Northeast of the UK. We know you hear this all the time, but this really is a unique opportunity to join us on a key contract - for our customer B&Q.

You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis covering circa 30 stores around the Northeast with their home delivery and trade points.

**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, plus a company car allowance of £360 per calendar month. In addition, we offer 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as wellas a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

**What you’ll do on a typical day**:

- Work closely with our Regional Managers and Compliance Manager to achieve and maintain the highest standard of vehicle compliance and driver standards
- Oversee our fast-paced transport operation, ensuring performance, compliance and the consistent achievement of customer SLAs
- Effectively manage and ensure the optimal utilisation of an ever-increasing number of drivers, along with fleet, compliance and all transport equipment
- Work alongside our HR Team to manage all site colleagues through GXO policies and procedures, holding regular performance reviews and supporting any employee relations matters

**What you need to succeed at GXO**:

- An International CPC is desirable
- An excellent working knowledge of transport compliance
- The ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team with a real drive for optimisation and continuous improvement
- A proven track record of a transport operational management background within a fast-paced distribution environment, preferably with exposure to retail
- Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment and planning and organising skills
