**Job Description**:
We are looking to recruit a Civils Estimator, with proven Defence sector experience to undertake duties on a number of high-profile projects.

The Estimator will be working as part of the client’s Estimating function, producing estimates to evaluate design changes, maintain the baseline cost, and challenge contractors’ estimates. You will report directly to our Regional Estimating Manager.
**Job Objectives**

As an Estimator you will be responsible for:

- Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner. Control of the estimating process at project level;
- Production of estimates on multi-disciplinary projects;
- Supporting development and promotion of estimating best practice;
- Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives;
- Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to be able to give best practice advice in line with business objectives;
- Active member in developing and driving the Estimating Hub in region.

**Required Skills**:
**Essential**
- Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant estimating experience.
- Relevant experience providing estimating and/or cost planning services in a large project environment;
- Understanding of project management, planning, risk and investment processes;
- Understanding of cost planning and experience of producing first principles estimates and demonstrable experience of the use of Estimating software packages (e.g., Candy, COSTX, RIB, Causeway);
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client facing environment
**Desirable**
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level;
