Dementia Support Volunteer

We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly volunteers to join the Guild Care team as Dementia Support Volunteer.
Haviland House offers dedicated residential and nursing care in a purpose-built environment for people living with dementia. Located just a few miles from Worthing, at Goring-by-Sea, the care home’s design consists of five households suited to a particular stage of dementia each with thirteen to fifteen spacious en-suite bedrooms.
This opportunity will involve supporting our members to have fun & interact with staff & the other members, chatting & showing genuine interest.
Activities might include baking and icing cakes, arts and crafts, reading, games, reminiscing and chatting, or gardening and walking in the gorgeous grounds surrounding the homes. We are always open to suggestions of activities, so if you have a special talent, come and lead a class There is also the opportunity to learn some new skills along with the residents.
**What will I be doing? - Tasks & Duties**
- Assisting staff members to serve teas & coffees to our members
- Chatting & spending time with the members
- Supporting the members emotionally
- We understand that volunteers may have strengths and interests in different areas, and we have therefore indicated below a range of tasks and activities volunteers could be expected to assist with and support within this role._
