We are looking for a **Water Hygiene Assistant **to join our team at HMNB Portsmouth.

**Main duties you will be performing**:

- Attend to planned maintenance on water systems in accordance with ACOP L8 & HSG274, including water system flushing, temperature monitoring, shower descale and disinfection and water sampling.
- Carry out planned and un-planned maintenance
- Report accidents, hazards and near misses
- Ensure all works are completed and updated via Mobile Tablet
- Promote a pro-active Safety Culture.

Technical Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:

- Legionella L8 awareness
- Experience of carrying out planned maintenance work within the water hygiene industry
- Ability to work on own initiative and lead jobs when required.
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to gain and maintain security clearance

Desirable:

- Experience of carrying out remedial maintenance work within the Water Hygiene industry, including TMV servicing and C&D of cold water storage tanks.
- Experience of installing or servicing Softeners
- An unvented water heater qualification
- Experience in plumbing of domestic water system, including dead leg removal and working with copper and plastic pipework
- A recognised plumbing qualification, for example C&G, NVQ Level 2 or 3
