**About the Sales Director role**:
As our **Sales Director, **you will be proficient in designing, shaping and developing business plans, setting direction and leading its execution. You will be a seasoned professional, used to provide both strategic direction and hands-on support.
There will be frequent travel, in particular to our head office in Leicester for strategy meetings, but often to other locations around England and further afield within the UK.Overnight stays are likely.
**Your responsibilities as our Sales Director will include**:
- Attracting, leading, coaching, appraising and developing the team and increasing enablement
- Leading and developing the commercial sales strategy, short term and long term for the UK and Ireland market
- Developing and managing the budget and directing all associated activities
- Directing and driving the realization of planned results and of departmental contributions to cross-sector projects, monitoring and deciding on the allocation of finances to remain within budget restrictions
- Evaluating organisational design, (work) processes and systems; initiate and implement changes and improvements within the department
- Keeping up with internal and external developments and ensuring the development, transfer and retention of knowledge and information
- Providing insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad hoc reports and / or analyses
- Specifying, (co)developing and maintaining instruments, policies, procedures and guidelines within the own functional area, to be used by Office Depot associates
- Leading and maintaining a network of internal and external stakeholders / partners and representing the organisation
- Being responsible for the integration of policy, activities and processes of own business or functional discipline which are generally related in nature and objective and where there is a requirement for co-ordination with related functions which requiresextended communication
**What we’re looking for in our Sales Director**:
- Seasoned commercial leaders within a B2B environment
- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in managing sales teams of 10 or more direct reports, with the ability to evidence successful coaching and development through identifying individual strengths and motivations
- Experience in creating, deliveringand achieving/ exceeding targets and KPIs on a regular basis
- Previous experience in interacting with customers at C-Suite and board level on problem solving and conflict resolution
- Experience in managing teams responsible for combined portfolios in excess of €100m
- Relevant industry experience in solution sales/ supply chain environments within matrix/ blue-chip organisations
- An excellent level of business acumen, with profit & loss reports and financial forecasting exposure
- Experience of undertaking substantial travel to support and coach field-based teams on a regular basis
