An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the team. The post holder will have at least 2 years post registration experience, hold a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, and have HCPC registration, BAOT membership is desirable.
Experience of working with clients that display challenging behaviours and mental illness.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic experienced OT to work between 2 Enhanced Community Homes within the Abergavenny area, providing quality, inspiring innovation and delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.
To manage patients using evidence based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement
and evaluate interventions, which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.
**Quality**
Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress.
Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff. Maintains and develops close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Priory policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
Contributes to business growth by actively promoting priory therapy services in line with the local units’ business plan.
Maintains effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patient’s rehabilitation.
Ty ffynu and Brynawel are two Enhanced community homes in close proximity to each other within the Abergavenny area of Monmouthshire, providing assessment and treatment for both men and women aged 18 and over with a mild to moderate learning disability, who may also have a personality disorder and associated mental health problems.

Ty ffynu and Brynawel are based in Abergavenny, both enhanced Community Home providing step down care for clients suffering from complex mental illness.
Our services uses a holistic and person centred approach with support from internal MDT. Service users are encouraged to make choices and work towards independence. The team work in collaboration with the service user, care co-ordinators and the commissioning team to deliver a package of care that is realistic and specific to the individual’s needs. Our focus of care is to help service users to gain confidence and build independence in order to improve their quality and live as safely and independently as possible.
