**Job Role: Batch Mainframe Manager**

**Function: CIO, Infrastructure Platforms, Technology Services**

**Grade: E x 2**

**Location: Edinburgh**

**Salary: £40,250 - £59,250 + £4K car allowance & generous benefits package**

The Mainframe & Batch Specialist is a key role in the Technology Services, CIO team and critical to the delivery of both customer and colleague facing technology to the Bank.

Conducting Approvals, Managing the key IT suppliers to plan, implementing and maintaining stable Mainframe and Batch platforms to support TSB's business processes is core to the role. This role is accountable for the end to end operation of the MainframeBatch

The role holder must work across the peer group and with their own teams to ensure all activity is in support of the CIO and business strategy and that service is delivered in line with commitments.

You'll be based in Henry Duncan House, Edinburgh however will work flexibly between home and our office. If working remotely is new to you, don't worry, we'll give you the support and equipment you need to get set up, including a company laptop. In returnwe ask that you have a suitable environment to work without distraction and a consistent internet connection (download speed - 10 mbps; upload speed - 3mbps)

Within the role you will be responsible for;
- Approval of any Batch Related Changes in TSB
- Attend Major Incident Management calls for batch issues / failures
- Review batch related incidents with appropriate partner teams (e.g. Application Development)
- Review daily and weekly batch schedules to determine possible improvements, in conjunction with Application Development, IT Operations and Optimisation teams
- Review daily batch incidents and report on root cause and support implementation any permanent fixes
- Represent Technology Services at Change Forums to support / review Production changes
- Raise queries re batch schedule to Application Development teams, utlising batch expertise to ensure industry best practice is followed
- Provision of on-call cover will be required (Outside Core Hours)
- Ensure Service levels are met and exceeded whilst working within budget and to all the required standards and compliance
- Ensure Supplier Management is being carried out effectively via both formal reviews and developing partnerships that enable seamless working across internal and external teams
- Working across peer group in a collaborative way to ensure that Service is delivered in line with SLA / agreements

**What we need today**
- Mainframe and/or Unix Batch Scheduling experience
- JCL / Preferably TWS or other Batch Scheduling tool i.e. CA7 Control M
- File Transfer software - i.e. Connect Direct and REXX Basic skills
- Knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, plus ZOS Operating system experience re monitoring and execution is highly preferable
- Track record of ability to delivery highly performant services within an Enterprise IT environment
- Proven ability to work in highly regulated environment
- ITIL and Cobit framework experience is preferred
