The Secondary school is based in Ilkeston Derbyshire and they are dedicated to provide an excellent education and a supportive environment for all students. They believe in the importance of physical education and the positive impact it has on student well-being and academic achievement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Coaching and Training**: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality coaching sessions across a range of sports, ensuring all students are engaged and challenged.
- **Student Development**: Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them improve their skills and achieve their personal best.
- **Event Coordination**: Organise and oversee sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities, ensuring they run smoothly and safely.
- **Health and Safety**: Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and school policies during all sports activities.
- **Mentorship**: Act as a role model and mentor to students, promoting teamwork, discipline, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with PE teachers and other staff to integrate sports into the broader school curriculum and support school-wide initiatives.
- **Administrative Duties**: Keep accurate records of attendance, performance, and equipment inventory, and complete necessary administrative tasks related to the role.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Relevant coaching qualifications in one or more sports.
- Experience working with young people in a coaching or teaching capacity.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.
- Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
- First Aid certification is desirable.
