Private Provider Team Leader

An exciting opportunity have arisen for staff looking to progress their career and become a Private Provider Team Leader in the Sussex area of SCAS.
The Team Leader role is a pivotal position in supporting our third-party providers whilst working on the SCAS contract. You will be responsible for the management of day to day operational provision with approved Private Providers for the provision of Ambulance Transport, ensuring that they are compliant with Service Level Agreements and Contracts within each area of business.
The Team Leader will, under the direction of the Private Provider & VCD compliance Manager, will be responsible for the compliance of our third-party providers, working closely with the contact centre & compliance team.
You must be a team player, accept responsibility, demonstrate accountability and be a confident decision maker. You will possess good interpersonal skills and communications skills. You will need to be competent in basic IT skills and capable of logical thinking, practical problem-solving, objective assessment skills and report writing.
The Private Provider (PP) Team Leader will work as an integral part of the Commercial Patient Transport Service, providing supervision to field based teams relating to the operational Patient Transport service delivery.
To work in close partnership with Health service colleagues to provide a quality service to the patient.
To manage day to day operational provision with approved Private Providers for the provision of Ambulance Transport ensuring that they are compliant with Service Level Agreements and Contracts within each area of business.
To manage day to day operational provision with approved Taxi Providers for the provision of transport ensuring that they are compliant with Service Level Agreements and Contracts within each area of business.
To be an ambassador when representing SCAS NEPTS by acting in a professional positive manner ensuring the Trust’s core values, strategies, vision and mission statement are adhered to and promoted at all times.

About Us
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.
The Trust delivers most of these services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire as well as non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey and Sussex.

1. To oversee the daily service delivery of all external providers in area of responsibility
1. To support the PP and VCD compliance manager in daily challenges
1. To supervise an operational team consisting of Ambulance Care Assistants and other staff as required across the area of responsibility. Providing a focal point of contact for the team in dealing with the day to day operational issues.
1. Ensuring the effective and efficient use of PP’s to meet the contractual commitments and both existing and future service level agreements.
1. To assist in the validation of taxi and PP invoices.
1. To deal with grievances, disciplinary matters at first line management level, as per current policies.
1. To assist in investigations relating to complaints, misconduct, poor job performance in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures.
1. To ensure all records and correspondence and statistics, whether manual or computerised are accurately produced and maintained and in line with current legislation.
1. To assist in partnership with the PP and VCD Compliance Manager and Vehicle and Equipment Unit manager to ensure that all providers working on behalf of SCAS are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and repair.
1. To support the PP/VCD Compliance manager in ensuring quality of service provided by the third party provider. They will support compliance checks including adhoc visits to providers for assurance.
1. To develop close working partnerships with the customers, staff and the management team for the ultimate benefit of the patients in the community.
1. In conjunction with Hospital Liaison Officers/ Customer Care Managers assist in contacting wards, discharge lounges and outpatient clinics as required to expedite the transport for patients.
