The Paediatric Emergency Department at Newham University Hospital is one of the busiest in London treating in excess of 36,000 children per year from a multi cultural community.
In return we offer an opportunity to professionally develop within the team, and across the wider trust to expand your skills and knowledge.
We are looking for a qualified play specialist who has experience of working with children and young people who is committed to providing high quality care to patients attending Newham Hospital.
The Government has announced that the legal requirement for all NHS workers in England, to be double vaccinated, is currently under legislative review.
We do however encourage those in roles that have face to face contact with patients to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless they are medically exempt), and are continuing to support the vaccination uptake for all staff as this remains the best line of defence.
To use theoretical knowledge and evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapeutic play programmes within the department, contributing towards the holistic care of children. To promote an awareness of the emotional needs of children in the Emergency Department, and the importance of play within the multi-disciplinary team.
